Science Project #1
By this point in human history, any brewer worth their salt knows how to brew IPAs – whether they’re hazy, bitter, or exploiting a meaningless sales-boosting acronym. But what really makes them tick, down to the most minute details? To answer that question, we’re putting on our brown pants and getting ready to clean some walls. For batch #1, we brewed a Hazy IPA with a strange combination of hops to explore the importance of hop polyphenols with respect to flavor, aroma, haze, and hopping rate. Does this beer have the hazy yellow color, soft mouthfeel, and juicy flavors you expect from a cosmopolitan hoppy beer? You tell us!
